Toronto police are investigating a possible arson after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a Greek café in Scarborough.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a blaze at a shopping plaza near Birchmount Road and Vauxhall Drive around 3:15 a.m. Upon arrival, they found flames coming from Elliniko Kafeneio Synantisi, located at 1515 Birchmount Road.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring businesses in the plaza. There were no injuries reported in connection with the incident.

Authorities say that, based on initial findings, the fire is being treated as an act of arson. Police have not released any information about potential suspects, and no arrests have been made so far.

Investigators remain on scene collecting evidence and reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses. Police are urging anyone with information relevant to the case to come forward as the investigation continues.
