Authorities Release New Doorbell Camera Footage of Suspect in Kidnapping and Murder of Three Daughters
Police release doorbell footage of suspect Travis Decker, highlighting his impressive wilderness survival skills amid ongoing investigation.

Chelan County authorities have intensified their efforts to locate Travis Decker, 32, who is wanted on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree kidnapping following the discovery of his three daughters’ bodies. The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) recently released doorbell camera footage and photographs believed to show Decker in the days leading up to the tragic incident, emphasizing that these may be his last known appearances before going on the run.
Investigators have uncovered that Decker possesses extensive wilderness survival skills, making the manhunt even more challenging. According to police statements, Decker is known to be “well versed in wilderness survival and capable of spending days or even weeks in the wilderness on his own and with very little equipment.” This has prompted law enforcement to broaden their search to include remote areas he was known to frequent, deploying specialized search teams to various locations.
Officials said, “As we take an ‘all hands’ approach to investigating the murder of three young girls, the team morale remains elevated as we work toward locating Travis Decker.” Collaborations with law enforcement agencies across the county and state are underway in tracking down Decker’s known associates, as authorities attempt to anticipate his potential next moves.
The U.S. Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force has joined forces with the CCSO in the search, and a reward of up to $20,000 is now being offered for information that leads directly to Decker’s arrest. While police say he is not currently believed to be armed, Decker should still be considered dangerous, and the public is urged not to approach him if seen.
The disturbing sequence began on Friday, May 30, when Decker picked up his daughters—ages five, eight, and nine—for a scheduled visitation. When he failed to return them by the agreed-upon time and became unreachable, their mother notified authorities. Detectives noted this was highly unusual behavior for Decker, especially given recent concerns about his mental health.
Tragically, the girls were discovered deceased near Decker’s abandoned pickup truck the following Monday afternoon. Court documents reveal that their wrists were zip-tied and that they died from asphyxiation, deepening the urgency and gravity of the search for Decker.
Law enforcement continues to urge anyone who may have information regarding Decker’s whereabouts or activities to contact the CCSO tip line at 509-667-6845 or to submit tips online at https://www.co.chelan.wa.us/sheriff/forms/submit-a-tip. Authorities emphasized, “We remain committed to bringing this fugitive to justice and providing closure for the grieving family and community.”
