CGTN and UzA Launch Strategic Central Asia Tour Ahead of Key China-Central Asia Summit

The collaborative initiative between Chinese and Uzbek media organizations marks a new chapter in China-Uzbekistan relations, with both sides eager to showcase the robust development of their partnership ahead of the much-anticipated China-Central Asia Summit. As part of the "Central Asia Expedition," six Chinese journalists set out across Uzbekistan, accompanied by high-ranking representatives from the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA), with the goal of reporting first-hand on the progress made in trade, investment, infrastructure, and cultural exchanges.

Traveling in new energy vehicles—a symbol of advancing technological cooperation—the team explored a wide range of collaboration projects, stopping at key sites such as the BYD Uzbekistan Factory in Jizzakh. Their journey highlighted not only manufacturing and industrial growth but also efforts to promote green technology and sustainable development within the region. The tour was carefully timed to coincide with the run-up to the China-Central Asia Summit, amplifying its relevance to the broader context of regional integration and connectivity.



Coverage from the expedition will be broadcast on both CGTN and UzA platforms, giving audiences in China, Uzbekistan, and beyond a closer look at dynamic events such as the China-Uzbekistan Local Cooperation Forum in Samarkand. The media tour additionally spotlighted Uzbekistan’s rich tourism appeal, taking viewers to historic destinations like Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent, and underscoring how increased people-to-people exchanges can further cultural understanding.

The visiting delegation received a warm welcome at the UzA headquarters, where G'afforov Alovaddin Nasriyevich, Deputy General Director of UzA, emphasized the importance of strong media partnerships in deepening the bonds between the two countries. He stressed that cross-border media collaboration plays a vital role in strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing mutual understanding, paving the way for long-term friendship and cooperation in an era of rapid change throughout Central Asia.

Through these joint efforts, both countries are reaffirming their commitment to open dialogue, shared prosperity, and the building of bridges—not just between governments, but also between ordinary citizens—across the vast and diverse landscapes of Central Asia.
