China Offers Support to Strengthen Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations

China has expressed its strong support for the recent elevation of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, which has progressed from the level of chargé d'affaires to that of full ambassadors. The announcement was made by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a press conference on Wednesday, signaling China’s growing interest in regional stability and cooperation.

Lin Jian emphasized that this development marks an important step toward enhancing mutual trust and solidifying cooperation between Islamabad and Kabul. “The move is conducive to deepening cooperation and jointly maintaining peace and stability across the region,” he stated. Lin further noted that such diplomatic upgrades are crucial in fulfilling the commitments made during the informal trilateral foreign ministers’ meeting held in May, attended by representatives from China, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

According to Lin, China is prepared to play a constructive and supportive role in fostering better relations between its neighboring countries. By helping to bridge divides and promote dialogue, China aims to contribute to the broader goals of peace and economic growth across Central and South Asia. “China is committed to working with regional countries, including Pakistan and Afghanistan, to safeguard the region’s stability and prosperity,” Lin remarked.

The spokesperson reiterated China’s vision of building a community with a shared future, pointing out that collaboration and diplomatic engagement are essential for long-term regional security. As both Pakistan and Afghanistan navigate complex political landscapes, China’s ongoing diplomatic involvement is being watched as a sign of its commitment to fostering harmony and development in its immediate neighborhood.
