China's export control measures are consistent with international standards and do not target any particular country, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian stated during a regular press conference held in Beijing on Friday. Addressing concerns about potential differences between China's practices and those of the United States, Lin emphasized that China’s approach is non-discriminatory and grounded in the principle of fairness.

Lin noted that China remains open to dialogue and cooperation with other countries and regions on issues related to export controls. He reiterated that China’s commitment extends to safeguarding both the stability of global industrial supply chains and the rules-based order underpinning international trade. “We are ready to enhance communication with all stakeholders to ensure mutual benefit and the smooth flow of goods worldwide,” Lin affirmed.

When questioned about the recent actions taken by the United States, Lin criticized what he described as an overreach of national security concerns. According to Lin, the U.S. has been politicizing and instrumentalizing economic, trade, and scientific-technical matters in order to impose what he called unwarranted containment and suppression on China. He asserted that such actions disrupt normal global cooperation and threaten to undermine economic stability.

In his concluding remarks, Lin stressed that China will firmly defend its legitimate rights and interests against any external pressures. “We resolutely oppose the misuse of export controls for political ends and stand committed to preserving an open, fair international economic environment,” he said. Lin called for all parties to adhere to objective principles in the formulation and implementation of export control measures, underscoring the importance of cooperation over confrontation in addressing shared global challenges.
