China’s export control measures are in line with established international standards and do not discriminate or target any specific nation, emphasized Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian during a regular press conference in Beijing on Friday. Addressing questions about the differences between China and the United States regarding export control practices, Lin sought to clarify the country’s position amid growing scrutiny of global trade policies.

Lin stated that China remains open to enhanced dialogue and cooperation on export control issues with all relevant countries and regions. He underscored China’s commitment to maintaining the stability of global industrial and supply chains, asserting that its regulatory actions are intended to be fair, transparent, and consistent with international obligations.

Highlighting ongoing tensions, Lin criticized recent U.S. actions, arguing that the United States has stretched the concept of national security to justify economic, trade, and technological restrictions against China. He described these measures as an unjustified attempt to contain and suppress Chinese development through the politicization and instrumentalization of key global industries.

Lin reiterated that China resolutely opposes such practices and will steadfastly defend its legitimate rights and interests on the world stage. Referring to the importance of open and stable international trade relationships, he called for all parties to adhere to principles of fairness and cooperation, rather than resorting to unilateral restrictions that could threaten the global supply chain.
