China's top diplomat, Wang Yi, met with Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, special envoy of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Wednesday in Beijing. The meeting underscored the steady trajectory of bilateral relations between the two countries, as both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and enhancing strategic ties.

During the talks, Wang Yi, who serves as a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, highlighted that China-UAE relations have continued to flourish under the leadership of their respective heads of state. He emphasized that China is prepared to work closely with the UAE on matters of mutual interest, pledging to bolster collaboration across various sectors, ranging from economic initiatives to international diplomatic efforts.

Wang also stressed the importance of mutual support on core interests, signaling a willingness to maintain close policy coordination on global and regional issues. "China stands ready to promote in-depth development of our comprehensive strategic partnership," he stated, adding that growing cooperation would benefit both nations as well as contribute to broader regional stability.

Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, representing the UAE, echoed similar sentiments during the meeting. He indicated that the UAE is keen to enhance its high-level exchanges with China, and remains committed to advancing the comprehensive strategic partnership. “The UAE adheres firmly to the one-China principle,” Al Mubarak affirmed, reiterating the nation's stance on China's sovereignty concerns.

Al Mubarak also underlined that the UAE will continue to champion the principles of independence and autonomy as it strengthens ties with China. Both delegations expressed optimism for the future of China-UAE relations, signaling an era of even closer cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and political dialogue. The meeting concluded with hopes for further enhancing trust and prosperity between the two nations.
