A senior spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense has issued a stern warning to the United States, urging it to immediately halt what was described as military collusion with Taiwan. Speaking at a regular press briefing on Monday in Beijing, spokesperson Jiang Bin responded forcefully to reports that the U.S. is delivering a new batch of M1A2 tanks to Taiwan and has plans to increase its arms sales to the region over the next four years.

Jiang characterized these arms deliveries as clear evidence of deepening cooperation between U.S. authorities and "Taiwan independence" forces, accusing both sides of actively seeking to undermine China's core interests. According to Jiang, such actions are attempts to alter the longstanding status quo across the Taiwan Straits and contribute to worsening tensions in the already delicate regional security environment.

"Who is making provocations despite strong opposition from the Chinese side? Who is undermining cross-Straits stability and repeatedly stirring up trouble? We believe we all know the answer," Jiang remarked during the briefing, as he voiced China's strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to the expanding U.S.-Taiwan military ties.

Emphasizing the significance of the issue, Jiang reiterated that the Taiwan question is at the very heart of China's core interests and represents a critical red line in relations between China and the United States. He urged the U.S. administration to immediately end all forms of military cooperation with Taiwan, warning that any further involvement would have serious consequences. "Otherwise, it will get burned for playing with fire and gain more harm than good," Jiang cautioned.

In a pointed message directed at the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities in Taiwan, Jiang declared, "U.S. weapons cannot save them, and soliciting external support for 'Taiwan independence' is doomed to fail." He stressed that attempts by Taiwan to rely on outside help would only further destabilize the region and would not deter China's resolve.

The spokesperson also noted that the People's Liberation Army will continue to reinforce its military training and preparedness, strengthening its ability to "fight and win" should the need arise. Jiang concluded by stating that China will take firm and resolute measures to thwart any separatist activities associated with 'Taiwan independence' as well as external interference.

As tensions rise in the region, Beijing's latest warnings signal its continued commitment to opposing foreign involvement in Taiwan affairs and underscore the high stakes involved in maintaining stability across the Taiwan Straits.
