Discover Nature's Wonders: From Iguazu Falls' Roar to Huangguoshu's Majestic Splendor
China eases travel restrictions for South Americans, extending visa-free access to Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay through mid-2026.

China is further opening its doors to South American travelers by extending a visa-free policy to citizens from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay from June 1, 2025, through May 31, 2026. This move marks a significant step in boosting tourism and cultural exchanges between the two regions. For many South Americans, the new policy creates an easier pathway to experience China’s diverse attractions, making spontaneous travel and extended exploration highly accessible.
Both China and South America are celebrated globally for their natural wonders, with waterfalls ranking high on the list of must-see destinations. Many travelers immediately think of Iguazu Falls when discussing iconic waterfalls. Situated on the border of Brazil and Argentina, Iguazu Falls is renowned for its breathtaking scale, as it stretches nearly three kilometers and comprises an astonishing 275 individual waterfalls. The thunderous cascade and ever-present mist create a dramatic atmosphere, with the "Devil’s Throat" serving as the highlight—an 80-meter-tall drop that fully immerses visitors in the overwhelming power and beauty of nature.

Now, thanks to eased travel restrictions, more South Americans can explore another world-famous waterfall: Huangguoshu Waterfall in China’s Guizhou Province. As one of China’s largest and most recognizable waterfalls, Huangguoshu features a main drop of 77.8 meters and a width of 101 meters, rivaling many of the world’s acclaimed cascades. The site is famous for its thundering roar and the sheets of water that tumble down into the river below, captivating thousands of visitors each year.

The landscape surrounding the Huangguoshu Waterfall is equally remarkable, featuring lush green hills, winding rivers, and classic karst rock formations. The area is especially popular during the summer and autumn months, when rainfall swells the river and the falls reach their maximum flow, offering a truly majestic spectacle. For travelers eager to compare the world’s greatest waterfalls, this new visa-free policy paves the way for unforgettable journeys between continents—inviting adventure-seekers from both sides of the globe to witness nature at its most awe-inspiring.
