Elliot Page and Tom Green Shows Head to Bell, 'Bad Trips' Drama Canceled

Bell Media has unveiled an ambitious and diverse programming lineup for the 2025/26 season, spotlighting new collaborations with industry heavyweights Elliot Page and Tom Green. The slate signals a commitment to original Canadian content and includes anticipated comedies, reality series, and high-profile revivals bound for Crave and CTV.

Among the headline grabbers is “Slo Pitch,” a fast-paced comedy centering on an underdog queer softball team’s quest for glory in the beer league championships. The series marks the first project developed under a newly inked co-development deal between Bell Media and Pageboy Productions, the company founded by Oscar-nominated actor Elliot Page. With its focus on LGBTQ+ narratives and ensemble cast, “Slo Pitch” is poised to deliver both laughs and representation when it debuts on Crave and CTV.

Another standout is “Tom Green’s Funny Farm,” where the iconic Ottawa-born comedian returns to Canadian screens with a fresh interview series. Set against the rustic backdrop of Green’s own rural Ontario property, the show promises candid and offbeat conversations with celebrity and local guests alike, blending humor and real-life charm in a distinct setting.

Classic game show fans can look forward to the revival of “Match Game,” this time with acclaimed comedian Martin Short at the helm. The series will be produced in Montreal, bringing the beloved American format north with a Canadian twist and star power to match. Production is scheduled to begin this summer, with big expectations from audiences familiar with Short's quick wit and improv skills.

Crave is bolstering its drama offerings as well, acquiring “Heated Rivalry,” the much-anticipated six-part adaptation of Rachel Reid’s bestselling gay hockey romance novel. The series is expected to resonate with both sports fans and romance enthusiasts, building on the book’s cult following and shining a light on queer stories in the context of Canadian culture.

Jared Keeso, creator of the acclaimed “Letterkenny,” will also bring a brand-new, yet-to-be-titled series to Crave. Production on the project begins this fall, with a premiere eyed for next year. Details are still under wraps, but industry observers are eager to see what Keeso delivers after the runaway success of his previous shows.

However, not every project announced last year will see daylight. “Bad Trips,” a limited drug-trafficking drama from Sasha Leigh Henry, will not move forward due to insurmountable issues with international financing. The cancellation comes after Bell Media had previously ended Henry’s Canadian Screen Award-winning comedy “Bria Mack Gets a Life” after just one season.

Returning favorites round out the lineup, with Crave bringing back “Late Bloomer,” “Super Team Canada,” “The Trades” and “The Office Movers.” Meanwhile, CTV will welcome new seasons of audience hits such as “Sullivan’s Crossing,” “The Traitors Canada,” and “The Amazing Race Canada.”

The 2025/26 slate emphasizes Bell Media’s ongoing commitment to Canadian storytelling and diverse content, cementing its place at the forefront of the country’s entertainment landscape as viewers eagerly await these new and returning programs.
