Legoland Shanghai Announces Trial Runs and Previews Before Grand Opening
Legoland Shanghai set to open as the world's largest Legoland theme park with internal testing beginning May 31.

The Legoland Shanghai Resort, soon to claim the title of the world's largest Legoland theme park, has officially completed its project handover. The resort is now set for an exciting new chapter as it announces the start of internal testing and trial operations, beginning May 31. This milestone signals the final stage before the much-anticipated grand opening later this summer.

In the lead-up to its official debut, the park will welcome selected guests with limited "1st-to-Play" annual passes and "1st-to-Stay" hotel packages. These early visitors will enjoy exclusive access to a full array of themed attractions, restaurants, shops, and live performances, as well as the resort’s signature hotel amenities. This crucial trial phase is designed to fine-tune guest experiences and ensure all facilities meet the highest standards prior to the park's grand opening, currently scheduled for July 5.

Among the resort’s most anticipated attractions is the world’s first Big Lego Coaster. Here, thrill-seekers will soar past towering Lego Minifigures in a ride designed to delight families and adventure-lovers alike. Another highlight is the 60-meter-high Legoland Observation Tower, offering guests sweeping panoramic vistas of the expansive themed landscape below.

At the literal and figurative heart of the park lies Miniland, an iconic Legoland feature showcasing extraordinary Lego-built replicas of world-famous landmarks. Guests can marvel at intricate cityscapes or embark on a relaxing boat ride that weaves through meticulous recreations of celebrated Chinese cities and attractions, all crafted from millions of colorful bricks.

A key entertainment attraction making its global debut inside Miniland is Shanghai Dreamscapes, an original interactive stage show exclusive to Legoland Shanghai. Headlined by "Brick Suit Girl," a celebrated Lego master builder, the production whisks audiences on a vibrant journey tracing Shanghai’s striking transformation from traditional neighborhoods to its status as a global metropolis.

Also set to premiere globally is the Lego Monkie Kid live show, which blends the skills of 13 professional puppeteers with dazzling visual effects and a showstopping 3.7-meter Bull Demon King puppet. The production merges oversized stage props, projection mapping, and high-energy choreography to deliver a unique theatrical spectacle set firmly in the Lego universe.

Just steps from the excitement of the theme park, the Legoland Hotel offers families an opportunity to extend their adventure with signature amenities such as immersive themed rooms, playful interactive Lego features, and daily children's programming. Each detail is crafted to spark imagination and create lasting memories for families with children.

Designed specifically for families with children aged 2 to 12, Legoland Shanghai Resort is divided into eight themed zones, featuring more than 75 interactive rides, live shows, and attractions. The park is adorned with thousands of intricate Lego models, collectively constructed from over 85 million Lego bricks, promising a playground of wonder, adventure, and creativity for families and fans of all ages.
