The Legoland Shanghai Resort is preparing to make its highly anticipated debut as the world's largest Legoland theme park, marking a significant milestone for family entertainment in China. With project construction now officially complete, the resort is entering its crucial pre-opening phase, slated to begin on May 31. During this period, internal testing and trial operations will take place, providing a first-look for select visitors and allowing the management to ensure all aspects meet the highest standards ahead of the grand official opening on July 5.
To streamline the transition and generate early excitement, the park is offering exclusive early access to holders of the limited "1st-to-Play" annual pass and "1st-to-Stay" hotel package. These special guests will have the opportunity to experience the full array of the park's themed attractions, innovative restaurants, expansive retail outlets, and unique live performances. Staff will use this phase to fine-tune every operational detail, guaranteeing a seamless experience for the broader public when doors open this summer.
At the core of the new resort's allure are its flagship attractions. Among them, the world’s first Big Lego Coaster promises a thrilling journey through immersive landscapes dotted with massive Lego Minifigures, while the towering 60-meter Legoland Observation Tower provides panoramic views across the sprawling resort grounds. These signature features are set to enchant and excite Lego fans of all ages.
A major highlight is Miniland, the beating heart of every Legoland resort, where intricate Lego replicas of global landmarks recreate the wonders of the world. At Shanghai’s Miniland, the experience is elevated with a themed boat ride, inviting visitors to traverse detailed Lego reconstructions of famous Chinese cities and heritage sites. This blend of international and local flair ensures a truly unique adventure for both domestic and foreign guests.
Adding to the resort’s lineup of firsts is the debut of “Shanghai Dreamscapes,” an original live interactive show exclusive to the park and performed in Miniland. Audiences will be guided by Brick Suit Girl, a celebrated Lego master builder, on an emotive journey chronicling Shanghai’s transformation from humble beginnings to cosmopolitan marvel—a performance designed to inspire as much as it entertains.
Further captivating visitors is the global premiere of the "Lego Monkie Kid" live show. This ambitious production features a cast of 13 skilled puppeteers and is headlined by the colossal 3.7-meter Bull Demon King puppet.
