Legoland Shanghai to Launch Exclusive Trials and Previews Ahead of Grand Opening Celebration

The highly anticipated Legoland Shanghai Resort has completed its project handover and is set to embark on internal testing and trial operations beginning May 31. This marks a significant milestone for what will soon become the world’s largest Legoland theme park. The trial phase represents the final stretch before the grand opening, allowing teams to fine-tune the park’s extensive features.

During this exclusive preview period, a select group of visitors—including holders of the coveted "1st-to-Play" annual pass and "1st-to-Stay" hotel package—will experience early access to the park’s themed rides, dining venues, retail spaces, live performances, and amenities at the Legoland Hotel. This process not only rewards early supporters but also plays a pivotal role in stress-testing the park’s systems ahead of the official opening, scheduled for July 5.

Among the standout attractions is the world’s first Big Lego Coaster, which propels riders through a landscape of larger-than-life Lego Minifigures. Another highlight is the 60-meter-high Legoland Observation Tower, promising visitors breathtaking panoramic vistas across the sprawling resort grounds.

At the heart of the resort sits Miniland, a signature feature at every Legoland park. Here, guests can marvel at intricate Lego replicas of global landmarks and embark on a boat ride weaving through detailed Lego interpretations of notable cities and attractions from across China. The level of craftsmanship on display is designed to both inspire and educate, offering endless photo opportunities for families and Lego enthusiasts alike.

Adding to the excitement, Miniland will host the global premiere of "Shanghai Dreamscapes", an interactive show exclusive to Legoland Shanghai. The performance, led by Lego master builder "Brick Suit Girl," takes audiences on an imaginative journey depicting Shanghai’s dramatic transformation from traditional neighborhoods to a bustling international metropolis.

Fans of dynamic stage entertainment can also look forward to the world debut of the "Lego Monkie Kid" live show. The production features an ensemble of 13 professional puppeteers and an impressive 3.7-meter-tall Bull Demon King puppet. Through advanced projection mapping and large-scale props, the show promises an immersive spectacle that blends traditional storytelling with cutting-edge theatrical design.

Complementing the park’s immersive experiences, the on-site Legoland Hotel is ready to extend the magic beyond park hours. Families can expect themed play areas, interactive Lego installations, and daily programming tailored especially for young guests, ensuring the adventure continues even after dark.

Designed specifically with children aged 2 to 12 in mind, Legoland Shanghai Resort encompasses eight themed zones packed with more than 75 interactive rides, shows, and attractions. The scale is further underscored by the presence of thousands of sculpted Lego models—crafted from over 85 million bricks—making the park a captivating destination for family fun, creativity, and imagination.
