Man Attemping to Marry Trump's Granddaughter and Spread Gospel Caught Scaling Mar-A-Lago Wall
Man arrested at Mar-a-Lago for attempting to evangelize Trump and marry his granddaughter, facing possible federal charges.

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a man identified as Anthony Thomas Reyes, 23, was apprehended by authorities after attempting to scale the wall at former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. According to law enforcement officials, the incident unfolded just after midnight when Reyes managed to climb a perimeter fence, instantly triggering security alarms around the exclusive property.
Secret Service personnel stationed at the estate responded immediately and detained Reyes at the scene without further incident. Shortly thereafter, officers from the Palm Beach Police Department arrived on site and took Reyes into custody. Authorities charged him with occupied trespassing, and initial records indicated his bond was set at $1,000. However, that figure was later increased dramatically to $50,000, reflecting the seriousness of the breach and the potential risk posed by repeated trespassing attempts. Officials noted that federal charges may also be pursued as investigations continue.
During questioning, Reyes reportedly told officers that his intent in breaching the high-security grounds was to "spread the gospel" to former President Trump. Additionally, Reyes made the alarming claim that he sought entry to propose marriage to Kai Trump, who is one of Trump’s granddaughters and a teenager. These statements echo previous behavior; police records reveal that Reyes attempted to enter the Mar-a-Lago estate once before over the New Year's holiday, at which time a trespass warning was issued against him while Trump was present at the residence.
At the time of the latest incident, the former president was not at his Florida property but was instead in Washington, D.C. The attempt nonetheless raised concerns about ongoing security vulnerabilities at the resort, which has been the subject of several high-profile trespassing incidents since Trump took office and transitioned Mar-a-Lago into both a private club and his primary residence.
According to a statement from the U.S. Secret Service, "U.S. Secret Service personnel detained [the suspect] without incident at the scene. Palm Beach Police officers responded to the scene and took the individual into custody, charging him with occupied trespassing." The agency emphasized that security protocols worked as intended and no harm came to any residents or guests.
This most recent arrest at the Mar-a-Lago compound underscores the challenges faced by security personnel at presidential residences, particularly as public figures continue to attract attention from individuals with unusual motives. As Reyes remains in custody awaiting further legal proceedings, authorities are reviewing current security measures to prevent similar breaches in the future.
