Man Sought by Authorities After Woman Sexually Assaulted in High Park
Authorities seek public assistance following a sexual assault in High Park Saturday night, as investigators hunt for a suspect described as a slim, athletic Black male aged 30-40.
Authorities are seeking the public’s help after a woman was sexually assaulted in High Park late Wednesday night. The disturbing incident occurred near the intersection of Howard Park Avenue and Parkside Drive at approximately 10:40 p.m., when police received an emergency call from the area.
According to investigators, the female victim was walking alone along a paved pathway inside the park when an unidentified male approached her from behind. It is alleged that the man forcibly dragged the woman into a nearby wooded area, where the assault took place. Despite suffering non-life-threatening injuries during the attack, the woman managed to break free and seek assistance.
She eventually encountered a passerby, who promptly called police, facilitating a rapid law enforcement response. By the time officers arrived, the suspect had already fled the scene, prompting an ongoing search and heightened concern among local residents and park-goers.
The suspect is described as a Black male with a dark complexion, standing approximately five foot ten inches tall, aged between 30 and 40 years old. He is said to have a slim, athletic build. At the time of the incident, he was last seen wearing a t-shirt and dark-coloured pants.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area around the time of the assault, or anyone who may have information about the suspect’s identity, to come forward. Increased patrols and safety measures are being considered in and around High Park as officers continue their search. Meanwhile, the victim is receiving support as the investigation proceeds.
