York Regional Police seek four suspects after armed carjacking in Markham injures one, as they flee in a dark sedan.

York Regional Police are actively searching for up to four male suspects after an armed attempted carjacking in Markham late Tuesday evening left one man injured. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on May 28 in a commercial plaza parking lot near Yonge Street and Glen Cameron Road.
According to police, the victim was returning to his parked vehicle when he was confronted by three unidentified men. One of the suspects reportedly brandished a firearm as they approached the victim. The assailants forcibly removed him from his vehicle and physically assaulted him in the process.
Despite the violent encounter, the victim managed to escape with his car keys, preventing the suspects from stealing the vehicle. The three attackers then fled the scene, escaping in a dark grey, four-door sedan that was being driven by a fourth accomplice. The quick-thinking actions of the victim likely prevented a more serious outcome.
Emergency responders attended the scene, and the victim was treated for minor injuries sustained during the assault. Police described the three male suspects as young and noted that they were last seen wearing dark-coloured clothing and gloves. At this time, there is no available description for the fourth suspect, who was acting as the getaway driver.
Investigators are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information related to the attempted carjacking to come forward and contact police. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of community vigilance as the search for the suspects continues.
