Reflecting on the university's long history, President Xi highlighted that Fudan University has consistently “kept pace with the times” and established a glorious tradition of patriotism and strong academic values. Over the past 120 years, the university has nurtured “numerous outstanding talents” and contributed to many original achievements, playing a positive role in advancing both national progress and societal development.
Xi Jinping expressed his hope that, at this important milestone, Fudan University will continue to uphold the guiding principles of the Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. He emphasized the importance of this philosophy as the university strives to further develop its talent pool and maintain its distinguished academic reputation.
The president urged Fudan to actively deepen reforms in education and scientific research. This approach, he noted, will drive forward China’s capacity for innovation and thought leadership.
Additionally, Xi Jinping encouraged Fudan University to enhance its capabilities in supporting major national strategies and contributing to regional economic and social development. He stressed the importance of making sustained efforts to help build China into a strong nation and contribute to the rejuvenation of the Chinese people through comprehensive modernization.

As it enters its next chapter, the university is expected to continue playing a key role in shaping China's future through education, research, and innovation.
