Indivisible ramps up efforts in swing districts to intensify opposition to President Trump on Capitol Hill.

Soros-Backed Group Behind Tesla Unrest Accused of Infiltrating Key House Race with Handpicked Candidate

The progressive group Indivisible, known for its recent involvement in nationwide Tesla protests and other far-left initiatives, is ramping up efforts in the critical congressional swing district of New York's 17th. As the 2026 midterm primary races begin to take shape, Indivisible appears to be backing Rockland County legislator Beth Davidson, a progressive Democrat with well-documented ties to the group, in an effort to increase opposition against the agenda of former President Donald Trump and his Republican allies in Congress.

Davidson’s social media suggests a close alignment with Indivisible. Her posts highlight promotional appearances at local Indivisible events and active involvement in organizing rallies and demonstrations targeting Republican incumbent Rep. Mike Lawler. In June, Davidson attended an Indivisible event in Rockland, and earlier she was featured in a promotional video for Indivisible Northern Westchester, solidifying her relationship with the activist group. Indivisible chapters have also played a prominent role in orchestrating protests at Lawler’s district town hall events, aiming to mobilize large crowds and bring attention to their progressive platform.

Footage from an April protest planning session in Rockland showed Indivisible leaders strategizing to fill entire streets with demonstrators. Davidson herself urged supporters on X (formerly Twitter) to show up in force, predicting that over a thousand people would participate. She later celebrated another protest organized by Indivisible and allied groups, emphasizing, "Mike Lawler may be silent on the daily assaults on healthcare, education, social security and national security, but We the People are NOT!"

Financial connections between Davidson and Indivisible are also evident. Bill Batson, a key figure within Indivisible Rockland, contributed funds to Davidson's campaign, highlighting the organization's deepening stake in the race. In response, National Republican Congressional Committee spokesperson Maureen O’Toole accused Indivisible of moving beyond traditional protests to directly influencing congressional seats, specifically referencing Davidson as their chosen candidate for NY-17.

Indivisible, which describes itself as a mass grassroots movement formed to counter Trump's policies after 2016, has become increasingly involved in local and national campaigns. The group has been associated not only with political protests but also with organizing efforts that include reimbursement programs for activists, such as those attending high-profile Tesla protests. Indivisible has championed a number of controversial causes, including campaigns to abolish ICE and calls to defund police departments, and has received significant funding from major progressive donors since its inception.

The organization has also distributed detailed toolkits to supporters for organizing demonstrations at lawmakers' offices and at locations linked to public figures like Elon Musk. While many of these actions have been peaceful, there have been instances where anti-Musk demonstrations escalated into violence, prompting federal charges and being labeled as "domestic terrorism" by authorities.

The collaboration between Davidson and Indivisible has become a flashpoint in the race. The Lawler campaign has denounced Davidson’s ties to Indivisible, citing allegations of offensive imagery and rhetoric at some rallies. Lawler’s team has called on Davidson to thoroughly disavow the group, warning that inflammatory language and extreme activism could foster further division and even violence. Davidson responded by denouncing the offending imagery and reiterating her commitment to fighting antisemitism, while also accusing Lawler of politicizing the issue for electoral advantage.

As the contest heats up, Davidson has secured the endorsement of Mondaire Jones, the last Democrat to represent NY-17. With multiple Democrats vying to challenge Lawler in a race rated as "Lean Republican" by several political analysts, the outcome could prove pivotal in determining control of the House. The battle in NY-17 is set to be watched closely, as both parties marshal their resources and grassroots forces to secure victory in one of the nation's most hotly contested districts.
