Teenager, 17, Charged with 34 Counts of Robbery and Theft Across North and West York
Teenager linked to over 15 thefts across Toronto's North York, facing multiple charges including robbery and possession of stolen goods.

A 17-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with a string of robberies and thefts that have impacted residents throughout Toronto's North York and West York neighborhoods. Police have linked the teen to more than 15 separate incidents that allegedly unfolded over several months, leaving many individuals who were attempting to sell personal items online as victims.
Authorities report that between February and May, the suspect repeatedly employed a similar method: arranging to meet sellers through online platforms and then making off with valuable goods during these encounters. The items targeted included watches, laptops, cell phones, and other electronic devices, with the total value of the stolen merchandise estimated at over $27,000.
After an extensive investigation, police were able to identify the boy as a suspect. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence near Weston Road and Finch Avenue West, where they took him into custody. Due to legal provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be disclosed.
The teenager is now facing a slate of serious charges, including eleven counts of theft under $5,000, fourteen counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, three counts of robbery, three counts of possession of counterfeit money, and three counts of obtaining goods by false pretenses under $5,000. He was scheduled for a court appearance on Tuesday.
Police stress that the investigation remains active, suggesting that there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. They are urging anyone with relevant information to reach out directly or to submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
