Toronto Man Arrested for Alleged Assaults on Three Women in Separate TTC Incidents

Toronto police are intensifying their search for 61-year-old Mussie Woldemariam, who is accused of assaulting three women in a string of seemingly random attacks occurring over the past six months. Authorities believe the suspect remains at large and are urging the public to remain vigilant as the investigation continues.
The most recent incident took place at Broadview subway station on Thursday, June 5, just before 2:30 p.m. Police responded swiftly to reports of an assault within the station, where investigators say a female victim was approached and attacked by Woldemariam. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. Officers report that the attack was entirely unprovoked, with no prior connection between the victim and suspect.
Authorities have linked Woldemariam to two additional assaults that occurred earlier this year in Toronto's east end. The first of these took place in January at Woodbine Station, when a woman riding a TTC bus was allegedly assaulted by the suspect as she attempted to exit the vehicle. Woldemariam reportedly fled immediately after the incident.
A month later, police responded to another violent encounter on a TTC streetcar in the vicinity of Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street East. According to investigators, Woldemariam engaged in a brief verbal confrontation with a woman aboard the streetcar before physically assaulting her and fleeing the area.
Police describe the assaults as random and unprovoked, heightening concerns about public safety, particularly for women using public transit in the affected neighborhoods. The Toronto Police Service is urging anyone who may have information regarding Woldemariam's whereabouts to come forward.
Mussie Woldemariam is currently wanted on three counts of assault and three counts of breaching probation. Authorities warn that he should not be approached by members of the public, and anyone who sees him is encouraged to contact police immediately.
