Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to participate in FOCAC follow-up and inaugurate the China-Africa Trade Expo in Hunan, June 10–12.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who also serves as a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, is set to participate in a series of high-level events focused on strengthening ties between China and Africa. According to an announcement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Wang will attend the Ministerial Meeting of Coordinators on the Implementation of Follow-up Actions from the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), as well as the opening ceremony of the Fourth China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo.
The set of key diplomatic events is scheduled to take place in Changsha City, Hunan Province, from June 10 to June 12. The meetings underscore China's commitment to deepening its longstanding partnership with African countries, with a particular focus on economic cooperation, trade opportunities, and the implementation of projects and agreements achieved in previous FOCAC rounds.
Officials expect that the agenda will include discussions on accelerating the joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, enhancing infrastructure development, and expanding investment into African markets. The China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo, now in its fourth edition, has become a significant platform for showcasing cooperation achievements and exploring new avenues for bilateral collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, finance, and digital technology.
This series of events is viewed as pivotal for fostering sustainable development and mutual benefit across both regions. Chinese and African representatives will also review progress on various cooperative initiatives while mapping out strategies for future engagement. The outcome of these meetings is expected to further solidify the China-Africa partnership and contribute to broader South-South cooperation efforts.
