White House Launches 'Big Beautiful Bill' Calculator to Show Americans Potential Savings Under New Legislation

The White House unveiled a new website on Tuesday that allows Americans to estimate how much they might personally benefit from the passage of the highly anticipated "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." Prominently featuring President Donald Trump and messaging celebrating support from "American Industry," the site invites visitors to use a custom calculator designed to show projected tax savings for individuals in a variety of wage scenarios.

According to the website, users are asked to enter their weekly base pay, tip income, and overtime premium pay. The calculator then displays estimated annual and monthly savings under the proposed legislation. For instance, a worker earning $665 per week, receiving $260 in tips and $100 in overtime, would see projected yearly savings of $2,246—or about $187 monthly. Someone with a more modest base pay of $200 per week, but higher tips and overtime, could potentially see even greater savings annually.

A key provision of the proposed bill is the elimination of taxes on overtime and tips, an issue that former President Trump has emphasized while campaigning this year. By removing these taxes, the measure aims to deliver what supporters describe as the largest tax cut ever for working Americans, particularly those in service-sector jobs who depend heavily on tips and overtime income.

The website also lists endorsements from over 1,000 American industries and organizations, including major platforms like Uber and DoorDash, which both have a large base of employees and contractors who rely on variable income streams. The show of support underscores the broad industry backing the bill has garnered, as business leaders align themselves with the administration’s tax agenda.

While the House of Representatives passed its version of the bill in May, the Senate is now deeply engaged in negotiations, facing both strong advocacy and opposition. Trump continues to urge lawmakers to move swiftly, asserting, “Republicans MUST UNITE behind, ‘THE ONE, BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL!’ Not only does it cut Taxes for ALL Americans, but it will kick millions of Illegal Aliens off of Medicaid to PROTECT it for those who are the ones in real need.” He further warned that failure to act would result in significantly higher taxes—as much as 65%—for American families, a claim he has repeatedly made in his public statements and posts.

Despite the fanfare and pressure from the White House, a group of Senate Republicans remains opposed, citing concerns over fiscal responsibility and the national debt. Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has emerged as a vocal critic, warning that the act could raise the debt ceiling by $5 trillion. Paul stated, “We have never raised the debt ceiling without actually meeting that target...if you increase the ceiling $5 trillion, you'll meet that.” His comments reflect a traditional conservative focus on limiting federal borrowing, a stance that has inevitably brought intra-party debate into the spotlight.

Trump, for his part, has not hesitated to admonish critics within his party, accusing opponents like Paul of “playing right into the hands of the Democrats” and arguing that economic growth spurred by the bill, alongside unspecified future cost-cutting measures, would offset any increase in debt. The heated rhetoric underscores the high stakes as the administration pushes for a self-imposed July 4 deadline to complete Senate action.

Other Senate Republicans have closed ranks in support of the bill, echoing Trump’s warnings about the risk of inaction. South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds emphasized the urgency, stating, “If we don’t do that, the average American family is going to see about a $2,400-a-year increase in their taxes.” Rounds and others have pledged to work closely with the House to finalize the legislation and pass it as quickly as possible.

As the legislative battle intensifies, the White House’s new public outreach tool aims to rally support at the grassroots level, making clear the administration’s message: the “big beautiful bill” represents sweeping change, forefronted by substantial tax relief and new national priorities. Whether that message is enough to overcome Senate resistance and secure final passage remains to be seen in the coming crucial weeks.
