Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter on Sunday to mark the opening of the 20th Western China International Fair, held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The message highlighted China's ongoing commitment to regional cooperation, global connectivity, and high-level economic development.
In his letter, President Xi emphasized that this year's fair centers on expanding high-level openness, deepening exchanges and cooperation between regions, and advancing the establishment of a modern industrial system. He underscored the importance of these themes in shaping a new development paradigm for western China.
Xi noted that the event provides an effective platform for countries across the globe to share in the growth opportunities emerging from China's western region. He also stressed the role of the fair in promoting the high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, which seeks to enhance international infrastructure and trade cooperation.

The 20th Western China International Fair officially opened in Chengdu on Sunday under the theme "Deepen Reform For More Momentum, Expand Openness for Greater Growth." Hosted by the People's Government of Sichuan Province, the fair draws participation from domestic and international businesses, government officials, and representatives from various sectors seeking to explore investment, trade, and innovation opportunities in western China.
